Sarpsborg Roklub, in collaboration with the Norwegian Rowing Federation, is proudly hosting the annual Baltic Cup this weekend at the scenic Tunevannet lake in Sarpsborg. This prestigious event welcomes junior rowers under the age of 18 from ten nations, offering a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and passion for rowing on an international stage.
Competing nations include Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and this year also Ukraine. Close to two hundred rowers will battle it out over two days, racing the Olympic-standard distance of 2000 meters on Saturday, followed by a fast-paced 500-meter sprint on Sunday. The competition is a key milestone for many young athletes on the path to becoming international competitors.
The Norwegian rowing community, including rowers, families, and local supporters, is thrilled to welcome these athletes and their support teams. Special thanks are extended to the Sarpsborg Organizing Committee for their hard work and dedication in ensuring the event runs smoothly. With their assistance, the Baltic Cup promises to be an exciting and memorable experience for all participants.
