JM 4x
They are all fond skiers, very much like the majority of Norwegians, and they love the outdoors and other sports.
Besides longboarding and snowboarding, Petter was a basketball player for 6 years before he took up rowing in 2009 at Fana Roklubb. He might be able to follow his older brother Ole who also participated in the U23 worlds last year and is now at NorthEastern University.
Adrian also started rowing in 2009, and despite being at stroke he is the youngest of the boat as well as one of the two quickest junior scullers in Norway alongside his doubles parter Ask Tjøm who will take part in the YOG in China later this August. He is the only in this crew to come from the east of Norway (Tønsberg).
Arne started off as a footballer (a sport he trained in for 10 years) then in 2010 decided to follow the steps of his father Audun, a successful rower for Norway, so he will hopefully continue the family tradition for Os Roklubb. Arne won the Nordic championship in the 2x with Adrian.
Didrik, from Bergens Roklubb, started only 3 years ago in 2011, is the bowman and like his other three crewmates, he is very dedicated in school. He loves training and has already in mind becoming a competitive lighweight next year. He took a silver medal in the 8+ second in the Nordic championships, alongside with Petter.
JM 1x
Sander is also from the East of Norway (Sandefjord Roklubb) and the fifth quickest sculler in the country. He loves playing guitar and go for long cross country skiing sessions, and is also a dedicated student/athlete. He came third in quad this year in the Nordic championship.
JW 2x
Aasta and Rebekka got together in the 2x this year and despite being first year juniors both of them, it seems to be working out well since they took gold in the nordic championships. Besides Norwegian and English, Aasta also speaks perfect French as she has lived in Ivory Coast and goes to the French school in Oslo, and she hopes to continue the good results of the female rowers coming from her club (Christiania Roklubb), which has produced a long streak of medallists for Norway, the last two in Varese two weeks ago: Inger Kavlie and Marianne Madsen. Rebekka rows at Moss Roklubb and in her own words it is pretty hard to be the only girl in the club.. but maybe that is what gave her the edge!
JW 1x
Jenny is the only rower in the team coming from the north of Norway, as she started rowing in Aalesunds (pronounced Ohlehsunds) Roklubb. She won the 4x JW at the Nordic championships this year and being in these championships is a great reward to all the efforts she has made this year. She did not start as rower but practicing the most popular sport for girls in Norway: handball, she played for 9 years!
